Community Engagement Specialist

Monica hails from the Guangdong Province of China and profoundly understands the nuances of local Chinese culture and communities. As a certified interpreter, she ensures that monolingual Chinese speakers receive expert-quality information. In addition, Monica consults on developing all communications and campaigns designed to engage and inform Chinese speakers in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Over the past few years, she has helped bridge the gap between city agencies and the Chinese community through her Chinese focus group moderation and workshop facilitation. Monica is proud of helping the community’s vision come to life on projects like the Willie “Woo Woo” Wong Playground Renovation Project.
 
Monica is a certified interpreter. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Simon Fraser University in Finance. Monica is a native speaker of Cantonese. In her free time, Monica travels around the globe or in her kitchen, cooking globally-inspired dishes.
